The workshop is the heart of the project
The workshop is the heart of the project

It is the place where ideas are transformed into matter and where each piece finds its time.

This shop was born in the Canary Islands with the intention of showcasing local craftsmanship, connecting it with other traditions and creative practices from around the world. The project is driven by Sonia Medina, a creator and artisan, and is built upon direct experience with materials, processes, and time.

Here, the shop and the workshop coexist: pieces from other artisans are selected, but many works are also created in the space itself, maintaining a coherence based on the real practice of craftsmanship.

An essential part of the work is based on the use of recycled materials, transformed into pieces of high aesthetic value that are durable and timeless. This approach goes beyond recycling: it's upcycling, where materials destined for the trash find a new life through design and creation.

It is the place where ideas are transformed into matter and where each piece finds its time.

In my workshop, I don't just create pieces; I transform forgotten materials into useful and decorative art. From basketry to jewelry, each project is born from my keen eye, my passion for detail, and my commitment to sustainability.

I work with my own hands, combining traditional techniques with my own creative processes. Every thread, every string, every scrap of paper, cardboard, or recycled fabric is carefully selected to create objects with personality, durability, and life.

My workshop is a space where waste is transformed into beauty, and where creativity and craftsmanship meet to give shape to unique pieces. Each creation is the fruit of time, dedication, and love for what I do, and reflects my philosophy of respecting materials, reusing them, and giving them new meaning.

My working method is manual, direct, and meticulous. Sewing, knitting, sculpting, or assembling becomes a dialogue with the materials; I listen to what each one has to offer and strive to transform every imperfection into beauty. The result is always a piece with character, durable and designed to last, reflecting both the material's history and my creative intervention.

My workshop is a space where sustainability meets artistic expression, and where each creation is born from the pleasure of making with my own hands, inventing solutions and finding harmony between utility and aesthetics.
