Event decoration

Since 2012, Sonia Medina has designed, created, and installed decorations for events, primarily festivals and trade shows, in the south of France, where she lived between 2002 and 2022, and in Switzerland. Her work focuses on textile creations that transform everyday public spaces—streets, squares, parks—into unique and festive settings where the public can immerse themselves in a colorful and dynamic environment.

Sonia creates these environments by drawing inspiration from both her own creative universe and the purpose of the event, harnessing natural forces that, far from limiting the design, become allies: the wind animates the pieces, the light creates plays of shadow. Each element withstands rain and extreme heat, always installed with the safety of the whole in mind.

Each project is developed following a process that includes understanding the organizer's aesthetic, thematic, and budgetary needs, visiting and analyzing the space, conceiving the proposal with a production schedule, creating each element, installing and subsequently dismantling it, and finally assessing the project's development and its suitability for the event.

The result is unique environments that not only decorate, but transform the space and energize the public experience, generating emotion and connection between art, nature and community
